Today, one of my pastors that I follow on Facebook posted “Don’t quit, you are needed”. It is a message that is so often not heard when we are at our lowest point in life. Yet, on the days where we experience sadness, loss, doubts, hurt, or even when we are seeking answers to our direction in life, we sometimes don’t know how to move on. We get lost in our thoughts and forget our life purpose.
I know that we all experience moments of being let down and or need to deal with loss. We shut ourselves away from the pain; turn off the sensors to receive love from those willing to love us, as we escape into a world of loneliness. Unfortunately there are many who don’t know how to turn this around. They are at a point of not knowing how to escape this place of darkness.
Now, I’m not quite certain where this pastor was heading with his post, but I can share one thing. Hope is always available, where we can set our sights on our strength through the power that we have in God. This doesn’t mean that things immediately become easy; it just means there is hope.
But, God can’t pick us up if we are unwilling to do some work. We need to believe in hope, have strength in ourselves, so that we can move on. Brush off the past, start mending and rebuilding. Cry when it hurts, pray when you need strength, and forgive. Forgive yourself and forgive others.
God has a purpose for each of us, even before we enter this world; He has already designed his purpose for our life. And, when we are at our lowest, we can’t see beyond the pain. But, don’t quit, because you are needed. It might be the warmth of your hugs, to teach others how to persevere, or even how to smile when the pain seems unbearable. Whatever the purpose, God does not want you to quit.
Be encouraged, knowing you are not the only one who has walked a path of hardship and pain. You might be surprised at how many have endured some unfathomable hardships, which are small in comparison, coming through the other side with strength with hearts filled with love and beauty.
Never give up or lose faith due to the trials in your life. Although easier said than done, God’s purpose will be revealed, as we hang onto our faith and persevere with patience.
