Miracles – Trusting God For Our Needs

Miracles happen every day, yet sometimes we are not able to see them because we are too caught up in what is going on in our lives.  When we take time to step back in faith, God is able to do what He does best.  He reaffirms our faith as He answers our prayers.

Due to a temporary set-back, life requires our ability to work more efficiently within our means as we make do with what we have.  We know it is not impossible, yet as we embrace what we have with appreciation, we are shown God’s grace of provision.

This weekend as I sold some items off craigslist, I met a person with whom I formed a connection with as she shared about her consignment shop.  Although I am leery of most consignment shops due to the high cost of annual dues and what they expect for their percentage off the sale of our work, I continued to listen.  Yet, in running my own business, I understand the cost of what their expenses might be and could see that she was being quite fair.

Something caused me to present her with some samples of work that I still had left in inventory of doll clothing that I had previously made.  After viewing the details I had put into my work, she shared how it was exactly what she was looking for in adding to her consignment shop.  I watched how she examined my work, to know that she was serious about this new addition to her shop, as well as understanding the pricing that I had developed.

There are never any guarantees in life, but God does put people in our lives for a reason.  I do not know why the details worked out for her to answer my ad, but I do believe that God intervened on our behalf.  I am also not certain that placing my doll clothing inventory in an artisan consignment shop is the right avenue for me, but sitting on a shelf in storage is certainly not going to get them into the hands of those who might be interested.

The miracle I experienced was first Gods provision to meet an immediate need of ours, but also an opportunity of placing my work in the view of others that are looking for quality handmade items.  There are no promises things will sell, but I do know that if it is God’s will, then the inventory of what I provide will generate revenue to supplement our needs.

Miracles do happen.  Not necessarily in the manner in which we might pray for, but usually in a way that allows us to smile and appreciate His perfect timing.  The best miracles occur, not when we announce our struggle to the world, but rather when we lift our need up to God.

Be patient in everything, trust as you wait, believe in a God of love and mercy.
