Life has a way of changing course on us when we least expect it. Depending on the circumstances and our personality, there are a variety of ways in which we might respond. Every circumstance has its purpose, yet our response has its own cause and effect.
When life throws a curve ball, do you step back and let it go by, do you casually go for it, or do you go all out to catch it regardless of the outcome? Of course every situation requires a different type of response. A life threatening situation you don’t have the time to think through the options, you just respond. Yet, most path changes allow one to choose the course of action.
When I am faced with a situation that will deter or change “my plans” I need to reflect on the information provided. Some events are easy, where I can accept and move on. There are other situations that I have this emotional response. My mind fills with questions while my heart fills with tears. Given the time to reflect and pray, while also having the opportunity to talk it out (usually with my husband) I am able to adapt, compromise or remain in the position to accept things as they are.
The current path I am traveling is requiring a variety of decisions. Some are easy while others are hard, yet I’m needing to trust people that I otherwise wouldn’t need to depend on. God is asking me to look inside as I discover the strength I have within. With this I will be able to move forth with confidence, peace and joy. Tomorrow I will be thanking God for guiding me through.
How are you handling the twists and turns in your life’s path?
